Advantages and disadvantages of
Advantages of screw compressors:
- High reliability: The screw compressor has few parts and no wearing parts, so it operates reliably and has a long life.
The overhaul interval can reach 40,000-80,000 hours.
- Convenient operation and maintenance: operators do not need to undergo professional training, and unattended operation can be realized.
- Good dynamic balance: the screw compressor has no unbalanced inertial force, the machine can work smoothly at high speed, and can realize non-foundational operation.
- Strong adaptability: The screw compressor has the characteristics of forced gas delivery, the displacement is almost not affected by the discharge pressure, and can guarantee high efficiency in a wide range.
- Multi-phase mixed transmission: The rotor tooth surface of the screw compressor actually has a gap, so it can withstand the impact of liquid, and can pressurize liquid-containing gas, dust-containing gas, and easily polymerized gas.
Disadvantages of screw compressors:
- High cost: The rotor tooth surface of the screw compressor is a space curved surface, which needs to be processed on expensive special equipment with special tools. In addition, there are also high requirements for the machining accuracy of the screw compressor cylinder.
- Not suitable for high-pressure occasions: Due to the limitation of rotor stiffness and bearing life, screw compressors can only be used in medium and low pressure ranges, and the exhaust pressure generally cannot exceed 3.0Mpa.
- It cannot be made miniature: the screw compressor relies on the gap to seal the gas. At present, the screw compressor has superior performance only when the volumetric flow rate is greater than 0.2m3/min.
