Screw Air Compressor Unit Configuration and Pipeline Installation Requirements
Screw air compressors are essential power sources in production processes. Ensuring their correct transportation, installation, usage, and maintenance is crucial for stable and efficient operation. Quick inspection and fault elimination during usage can effectively minimize downtime and reduce losses.
Screw Machine Transportation Requirements
Before installation, the screw machine should be placed in a designated location. It can be transported and positioned using a forklift or hoisting method, ensuring proper operation techniques are followed. Improper transportation can deform the unit and distort its structure, affecting its functionality and causing failures.
Screw Machine Installation
Foundation Requirements
The screw machine must be installed on a flat ground and secured with anchor bolts. If the above conditions cannot be met, a 1cm thick rubber pad can be placed under the machine to reduce resonance during operation. An uneven or insufficiently hard foundation can cause the unit to twist and deform during operation, leading to cracks in the cooler, pipe tears, and operational failures. In severe cases, accidents may occur.
Space Installation
The screw machine should be placed in a well-ventilated and spacious environment, with at least 800mm of maintenance space around it. A narrow space can hinder the normal operation and maintenance of the unit.
Unit Exhaust
The cooling hot air from the screw machine must be discharged outside the air compressor room through a pipe to maintain an appropriate temperature. Poor ventilation design can cause the room to heat up rapidly, leading to frequent high-temperature trips of the unit.
Air Compressor Unit Configuration and Pipeline Installation Requirements
Each screw machine must be equipped with a gas storage tank and, if needed, auxiliary equipment such as a cold dryer and a filter. The installation requirements are as follows:
A) The installation sequence of supporting equipment is: “air compressor → gas tank → gas-water separator → cold dryer.” This sequence effectively utilizes gas flow characteristics to discharge water in advance and reduce the cold dryer’s load.
B) A hose is required between the screw machine and the gas tank, with the tank’s inlet and outlet following the principle of bottom-in and top-out.
C) The outlet pipe of the screw machine should be tilted downward to prevent cooling water from flowing back.
D) It is recommended to install a stop valve or check valve at the screw machine’s outlet to prevent interference between units sharing the pipeline.
Notes
- Use an independent power system for large-power units to avoid parallel use with other equipment and prevent overload or other protection trips caused by excessive voltage drop or unbalanced three-phase current.
- Configure a suitable incoming circuit breaker according to the unit’s power usage. The circuit breaker current should be at least 1.5 times the unit’s total operating current. Ensure the motor and unit’s ground wires are reliably grounded for safe power and cable usage.
- The distribution transformer and switch capacity should be greater than 1.4 times the machine’s rated power, with power supply voltage fluctuations between ±5% of the rated operating voltage.
- In case of unit failure, shut down immediately and report to the technical service department of Xuzhou Kongwei Compressor Co., Ltd. Restart only after inspection, troubleshooting, and repair by professionally trained personnel.
- During operation, ensure all parameters and requirements are within specified ranges. The company will not provide warranty coverage for damage due to overvoltage, undervoltage, phase imbalance, phase loss, and other faults.
By adhering to these guidelines, you can ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your screw air compressor unit.
