Summary of disadvantages of air compressor refrigeration dryer
When the refrigerated dryer is running, it is more sensitive to the ambient temperature. Generally, when it exceeds 38°C and is below 0°C, it cannot operate effectively. Moreover, large-capacity refrigerated dryers need to consume a large amount of cooling water, and the use in water-scarce areas will be limited. Especially when running for a long time under the rated load, the automatic unloading device of the refrigerant compressor should be considered, otherwise it will cause adverse effects on the refrigerant system.
Since the refrigerated dryer uses refrigeration technology, the evaporation temperature of the refrigerant must not be lower than 2°C, otherwise it will freeze and block the pipeline, resulting in the inability of compressed air to pass through.
Although the effective air supply volume of the refrigerated dryer can reach 100%, due to the restriction of the working principle, the dew point of the refrigerated dryer can only reach a minimum of 3°C (pressure dew point), and it is affected by the inlet temperature. For every 5°C increase in the intake air temperature, the cooling efficiency will drop by 30%, and the dew point of the supply air will increase significantly, which is greatly affected by the ambient temperature. Moreover, the refrigeration principle of the refrigerated dryer determines that the real outlet pressure dew point of the gas cannot reach the set value of the evaporator. Therefore, in order to obtain a lower dew point, the power of the refrigerant compressor must be increased, which greatly increases the production cost. . At the same time, the gas produced by Freon in the refrigerant will destroy the atmosphere and cause huge pollution to the environment.
When the compressed air outlet temperature is 45°C and the pressure dew point is 10°C, the energy consumption (mainly electric energy) is about 6%. In the existing market, although the popularity rate of refrigeration dryers is high, most brands are small “Workshop” processing and manufacturing, there is no established high-end brand to guide. This is due to the backward technology of freeze dryers, the low level of manufacturing technology, and the result of non-standard market requirements.
According to the survey, most industries and pneumatic equipment require the dew point of compressed air pressure to be between -20°C and -40°C. However, the measured dew point of most users in the market is between 20°C and 35°C, with a large amount of liquid water mixed in. The service life of the equipment is greatly shortened and the failure rate of the equipment is increased.
In summary, the disadvantages of refrigerated dryers are summarized as follows:
- Due to technical limitations, the quality of compressed air cannot meet production requirements.
- The quality of the air outlet is unstable, there is liquid water, and the pressure dew point is generally 2-10°C.
- Refrigerant (freon) is used for refrigeration, which seriously pollutes the air.
- The refrigerant compressor works continuously, and the energy consumption is about 6% when the pressure dew point is +10°C.
