How to Choose an Industrial Air Compressor ?
When we buy industrial air compressors, have we considered how to match the model is the best? Is it the most energy-efficient? Have we considered the following 9 aspects?
What is the minimum working pressure required for the production line?
We have learned from long-term customer communication that some customers only need 0.6MPa pressure on-site to meet production, but many customers choose an air compressor with a supply pressure of 1.0MPa when purchasing an air compressor.
Every time the pressure increases by 0.1MPa, the energy consumption increases by about 7%. When selecting the air supply pressure of the air compressor, the actual demand pressure on the production site must be considered.
Is the gas demand of the production line stable?
When selecting an industrial air compressor, it is necessary to consider whether the gas consumption of the production line is balanced, whether there are peaks and valleys.
If the air demand of the production line is very stable, it is recommended to choose a power frequency air compressor; if the air demand of the production line is very unstable, it is recommended to choose a permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor.
Are the compressed air pipelines reasonably arranged?
When we select industrial air compressors, we also need to consider whether the compressed air pipeline layout is reasonable. The size of the pipe diameter, the number of turning points and the distance between the air compressor and each gas end pipeline are all factors that affect the pressure loss. It is recommended to enlarge the pipeline diameter appropriately.
If the environmental conditions meet the installation requirements of the air compressor and the working conditions permit it, it can be installed near the gas end.
Can the company’s power facilities meet the needs of air compressors?
Due to the relatively large power equipment of industrial air compressors, when we select the air compressor, we need to consider whether the voltage and capacity of the company can meet the power consumption of the air compressor.
When some companies require a relatively stable voltage and current, we recommend that customers select variable frequency air compressors.
Does the industrial air compressor room meet the conditions?
Large industrial air compressors are not necessarily suitable for production lines. Whether the air compressor room can meet the equipment placement and maintenance space is very important. We recommend that there is at least 1 meter of maintenance space between each piece of equipment.
Whether the air compressor room meets the conditions of air intake and ventilation. If the ventilation is not good, the temperature in the equipment room will be too high, which will affect the efficiency and life of the equipment.
What are the quality requirements of compressed air for air-consuming equipment?
Compressed air contains a certain amount of moisture and oil. If the compressed air is directly put into use without treatment, it may cause failures of the gas consuming equipment and product defects.
When selecting the air compressor, you must carefully understand the terminal gas-consuming equipment of the enterprise. According to actual requirements, provide freeze dryers, adsorption dryers, precision filters and other equipment to process compressed air.
Oil free screw type industrial air compressor or oil-injected air compressor?
Oil-injected screw compressors provide compressed media with varying oil content. Oil free industrial air compressors provide oil-free compression media. Nowadays, oil-injected screw air compressors are basically used in industry. The low cost is one aspect. Not every company has such high requirements for compressed air is the main reason.
Oil-free screw air compressors do not involve oil in the compressed air process, so the compressed air can be oil-free and suitable for high-quality air applications, such as food, biopharmaceuticals, precision spraying and other industries. But oil-free means that there is no oil injection involved in the compression process, not that there is no oil in the air compressor.
The so-called “oil-free” means that the gas does not come into contact with oil at all during the compression process, but the compressor bearings, synchronous gears and other parts still need to be lubricated with lubricating oil, but between these lubrication parts and the compression chamber, An effective shaft seal is used for isolation.
Choose air-cooled or water-cooled?
Generally, air compressors mainly have two cooling methods: air-cooled and water-cooled. Which of the two cooling methods is better or worse depends on the environment in which it is used.
For an environment with sufficient water resources, we recommend choosing a water-cooled type. If water resources are scarce, it is recommended to choose an air-cooled type.
The difference between belt connection and straight connection
Belt connection is to use pulley and belt, motor drive mainframe, its advantage is that it can adjust speed through the proportion of pulley, prevent accidental blocking, burn out the motor, save housing space, the disadvantage is easy to slip, transmission efficiency is low, a direct connection is to connect mainframe and motor through coupling.
